CountryNet Acceptable Use Policies (AUP)

We at CountryNet understand how important it is to your home or business that your high-speed Internet service be safe and reliable. It is with this purpose in mind that CountryNet requires each participant to comply with established policies for the shared network. Policies include, but are not limited to, the following. Participants agree:

  • To comply with all applicable local, state, federal, and international laws and regulations.

  • Not to operate a server (web or otherwise) that requires extensive or continuous bandwidth without prior approval of CountryNet.

  • Only to connect to CountryNet equipment for which use is authorized.

  • To not fraudulently obtain or distribute any material or to present oneself in a fraudulent manner.

  • Not to intentionally cause harm to any CountryNet equipment. Violations will be prosecuted by applicable law.

  • To maintain appropriated virus, worm, and etc protective software on personal equipment. Failure to do so may cause damage to the network and can result in suspension of service until such problem can be eliminated.

  • That spamming is harmful to the network and thus each participant will not participate in sending or receiving masses of unsolicited messages. Such activity can result in suspension of service.

  • That the Internet has sites with material inappropriate for minors. Many sites contain information that may be obscene or harmful. Network participants will not hold CountryNet responsible for transmission of any such obscene, offensive, or harmful material. CountryNet does not filter Internet transmissions except for CAMPnet sponsored public access computers. However, each CountryNet participant is encouraged to select and install such filter software on person equipment. Links to several filtering choices can be found at www.countrynet.net.

CountryNet Billing Policies

Payments are charged monthly and are payable one month in advance. Payments are due by the 25th of the month prior to service and will be considered delinquent after the 8th of the service month. Email statements and reminders will be sent. Paper statements will be sent upon request. Delinquent accounts will be suspended for non-payment. A reactivation service fee of $10.00 will be charged. Checks returned for non-payment will be accessed an additional $25.00 fee.

Other billing arrangements will be initiated soon. Credit card, automatic debit payments, and multiple month payment policies will be announced when available.

CountryNet reserves the right to change or update policies without prior notice. CountryNet also reserves the right to refuse service, limit service, or terminate service without warning to any participant we believe to be abusing the network or CountryNet equipment. CountryNet also reserves the right to change terms, conditions, and rates of service.
